ECO
TOWN STILL THREATENS FORD’S COMMUNITIES

87% Greenfield site, the airfield was
decommissioned in 1959, accessed only by B roads
 |
CAFÉ
submitted our final response to the
Government on 30th April outlining the many reasons why Ford
cannot and should not have an eco-town. An eco-town is totally
unsustainable at this location, the FAVG’s scheme is based on pure
aspiration and no substance and most importantly the community does not
want it.
We expect the final decision on Ford’s fate in mid-July.
CAFÉ will continue to fight against this eco-town policy and the FAVG
proposal until the greenfields of the lower Arun Valley are safe.

NEWS…….
The doors have closed to the public but our MPs continue to question the
viability and sense in the Ford Eco-town at Westminster.
Both have met with the Housing Minister, to press for Ford’s removal and
had a Parliamentary debate on the issue.
The Government’s final decision on the eco-town list is expected
mid-July, 2009. |
